The Los Alamos Atomic Tumblers hosted the 42nd Annual Snowflake Invitational Feb. 1 at the Los Alamos School of Gymnastics. The competition included 119 competitors from New Mexico, Texas, and Colorado. Twenty-eight gymnasts from LASG competed at their home gym in the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Xcel competitions. Elise Thalacker had a great meet on Saturday with an all around score for LASG with 36.75 for second place in the Bronze B. She also earned a gold medal on bars (9.35) and silver on vault (9.1).
Leading the way in Bronze A was Isla Kaufeld with an all around score of 34.85 for second overall including a gold medal finish of 9.05 on the floor. Savannah Caizza placed third in the all around with a score of 34.55 including first on vault with 8.85. Lane Cleveland scored 34.15 in the all around and Scout Cleveland placed third on the vault with a score of 8.55 and scored 33.7 in the all around competition.
The Bronze B competition also included a third place all around finish by Addison Lowe with a score of 36.50 including two silver medals; on beam (9.30) and on bars (9.25). Maya Ternet placed sixth in the all around with 35.45, Noelle Garuno placed seventh with 34.75, and Audrey Artnak placed ninth with 33.05.
Rounding out the Bronze competitors were Hannah Meierbachtol who placed sixth in the all around in Bronze D with a score of 35.5 and Emma Fadner who won gold for Bronze E in the all around competition with a score of 37.45 including three first places: 9.2 on vault, 9.45 on floor, 9.5 on beam, and a second place on bars with 9.3.
The Silver division gymnasts for LASG had a great meet finishing third as a team. In the Silver A individual competition Ava Zadina earned silver in the all around with 35.3 and silvers in the vault (8.9) and floor (8.8). Maddie Vallejo earned a gold medal on the vault with a 9.0 and fourth in the all around with 34.25. Emery Apperson earned fifth in the all around competition with 33.10.
The Silver B gymnasts for LASG were Lucy Meierbachtol who earned gold in the all around (36.00), silver on both floor (9.2) and beam (8.7), and bronze on bars (8.9). Harmony Cutter took home gold on the vault with 9.25 and bronze in the all around with 34.55. Kayla Daley earned sixth place in the all around with 32.95.
Serenity Tao won gold in the Silver C all around competition with a score of 36.5. Her individual scores earned two golds (9.45 on vault and 9.3 on floor), one silver (8.75 on beam) and a bronze (9.0 on bars). Tehya Thornton placed fourth in the all around with 32.3 and teammate Lucy Lindsay earned fifth in the all around with 31.15 including a third place finish on vault with 8.45.
Addy Archuleta scored 34.6 in the all around Silver D competition, earning fifth place. Abbie Johnson had a score of 34.75 in the all around Silver E competition.
Three LASG gymnasts competed in Gold A. Amelie Vallejo won gold on the vault with 8.55 and placed fifth in the all around with 32.8. Caroline Erikson placed sixth in the all around with 32.65 and Christina Samantzidou earned 32.325 in the all around, good enough for eighth place.
Finally, the Excel Gold D LASG gymnasts had a great day with Eliana Rodriguez earning three gold medals on individual events, 9.375 on floor, 9.35 on vault, and 8.85 on beam, and gold in the all around competition with 36.00. Teagan Brown earned bronze in the all around competition with a score of 34.65 including a second place finish on vault with 8.65 and third place finishes on floor (9.1) and beam (8.65).
The Atomic Tumblers compete next on the road in Belen March 1.
