Dear Local Business,
I have recently been appointed as the “community-at-large” member of the Los Alamos County Lodger Tax Advisory Board (LTAB). The LTAB advises the County on matters relating to visitation and tourism.
I would appreciate it if you would take a few minutes to complete the online questionnaire at https://rb.gy/ib375a – the questionnaire will be open for responses until Jan. 19. Testers took less than five minutes to complete it.
I appreciate the assistance of Los Alamos Commerce and Development Corporation (LACDC), the Chamber of Commerce, MainStreet and the Los Alamos Local Business Coalition in helping me distribute this questionnaire to as many local businesses as possible. It is intended to gather information on local business priorities and interests that I will use as the LTAB develops our 2025 workplan.
The Los Alamos Tourism Strategic Plan (2018) outlines strategies and actions for promoting visitation and tourism as an economic driver. A key component of this effort is ensuring that local businesses benefit from increased visitor traffic. With this goal in mind, I am reaching out to you today to gather your insights and perspectives on visitor and tourism priorities and interests. Your input will be important in helping develop initiatives and strategies that support the growth of your business and enhance the visitor experience in Los Alamos.
The feedback I receive will be used to:
Help me to inform the LTAB discussion about local business priorities, interests and ideas relating to visitor and tourism development.
Follow-up with local businesses that express interest in being more involved in providing input and ideas.
This is my personal initiative to be better informed and is not an activity of Los Alamos County or the Lodger’s Tax Board.
Recent community surveys conducted by the County indicate a desire for improvement in the local business environment and more transparent local government. Both of these priorities are front of mind for me as I begin LTAB participation. Please help me by providing your input.
