COUNTY News:

Traffic on Diamond Drive passing the Los Alamos County Golf Course will be impacted by a lane closure Friday, Jan. 3 and both drivers and bikers are reminded to drive cautiously and courteously near the work zone.

The westbound bicycle lane and the traffic lane adjacent to it will be closed throughout the work day, beginning at 9 a.m., while Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) Water Production crews repair a water leak at the golf course.

A temporary bike lane will be established in the right-hand closed traffic lane.

The work zone starts approximately 0.2 miles west of Club Road. Motorists and bicyclists should watch for and adhere to traffic controls.

The damaged line is a 16-inch transmission line that feeds water to Barranca Mesa and North Mesa. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the repairs are expected to be completed by the end of the day.

Questions or concerns about this work may be directed to the Los Alamos County Customer Care Center at 505.662.8333 (during work hours) or CustomerCare@lacnm.us.
