Los Alamos Hilltopper Run Sunday Aug. 18

Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation News:

There’s still time to register for the Hilltopper Run! This year the race is Sunday, Aug. 18 at Canyon Rim Trail beginning at the west end of the Canyon Rim Trail in the Smith’s Marketplace parking lot.

There will be:

  • 5 mile run (6:30 a.m. start);
  • 5K Run (8:15 a.m. start); and
  • Kids’ 1 mile run (9:30 a.m. start).

The race will be an out an;d back course along the paved trail. Packet pick-up is 3-7 p.m. Saturday at Bathtub Row Brewing Co-op. To register for the race and see the course map, visit  https://tcrproductions.com/hr24reg.

Please note: Canyon Rim Trail will be closed to the public 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. the day of the race.  Beginning at 7:30 a.m., the west portion of Canyon Rim Trail (between the west trailhead and the .5-mile marker) will be closed to the public until 10 a.m. when the race will be over. The closure will be marked by yellow delineation posts.

The Hilltopper 5K is hosted by TCR Productions of Albuquerque, owned by Tom Rojas, a Los Alamos High School alum from the class of 1972. All proceeds from the race will go to the Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation to benefit Los Alamos Public Schools and to the LAHS Cross Country teams.
