COMMUNITY News:
Three local residents invite the community to a free concert, April 14, with the Santa Fe Symphony Musician’s Chamber Concert. The event is compliments of Bill and Kathy Landschulz and Chuck Tallman, and will take place at 4 p.m. at the United Church of Los Alamos.
This is the first of three planned chamber concerts featuring Santa Fe Symphony musicians, April 14, April 28 and May 5, all at 4 p.m. in the United Church sanctuary. April 28 will feature Rebecca Ray, oboe and Stefanie Przybylska, principal bassoon. The May 5 concert will feature Anne Eisfeller, principal harp.
This fun started with a bidding opportunity at last summer’s Santa Fe Symphony annual fundraiser. Bill and Kathy Landschulz came away with two musician gig “wins” with Chuck Tallman (Kathy’s father) winning a 3rd.
“We started to think that the Los Alamos community would really enjoy the opportunity to hear these wonderful musicians in a small, chamber concert setting, and that the acoustics and location of the United Church sanctuary would be a good fit,” Kathy Landschulz said. “The wonderful support from the Symphony’s Executive Director Emma Scherer, the musicians and the United Church’s staff, this mini-concert series was born.”
These concerts will truly be open to all ages and long-term classical music fans or folks wanting to explore for the first time. The Symphony is grateful to the Landschulzes and Mr. Tallman for their support and for hosting these intimate concert gatherings. In this 40th Season of The Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus, you won’t want to miss hearing their outstanding musicians live in Los Alamos!
