From Cornell Lab of Ornithology:
Even when the weather turns cooler, it’s always a great time to enjoy and support birds.
Here are a few fun resources from the Cornell Lab to explore this winter:
- From fruit-eating birds in Panama, to nesting albatross, there is always something exciting to see on the Cornell Lab Bird Cams. Pop over to the live streamed cams and enjoy a virtual window into the natural world any time of year.
- In winter, cavity-nesting birds roost in hollows and nest boxes to stay safe and warm as they rest. Hosting a roosting spot can create great opportunities to observe these visitors in your space. Learn more and download plans to make your own roosting box.
- Providing food for birds can be a great way to get to see them closer to home. Learn more about the feeding preferences of common visitors in the U.S. and Canada with Food and Feeder Preferences of Common Feeder Birds.
