Heinrich Statement On Manchin Re-Election Announcement

U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin

From the Office of U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich:

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) issued the following statement on Chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin III’s (D-W.Va.) announcement that he will not seek re-election in 2024:

“Chairman Manchin passed landmark, forward-looking legislation, from the Great American Outdoors Act and John D. Dingell, Jr. Conservation, Management, and Recreation Act to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act. His leadership was instrumental in finalizing each of these laws. The Inflation Reduction Act in particular—Chairman Manchin’s signature accomplishment—is by far the biggest American manufacturing accomplishment in decades.

“Julie and I wish him and his wife, Gayle, all the best in this next chapter.”
