The Los Alamos High School Hilltoppers varsity girls soccer team hosted Volcano Vista Thursday at Sullivan Field for a hard fought match ultimately losing 0-4.
The Hawks proved to be a challenging opponent outshooting the Hilltoppers 20-1. However, the Hilltoppers shined with a disciplined defensive formation that gave up only a single goal in the first 50 minutes of play with excellent and relentless pressure by Isabel Atencio, Margaret Steinkamp, Dayja Fellers and Tirryn Sutherland on the Hawks attack.
Up next, the Hilltoppers will take on Albuquerque Academy at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7at Sullivan Field.
