County Environmental Services Thanks Volunteers For Participation In 20-Year Anniversary Of Clean Up Los Alamos Day

Environmental Services would like to thank all the volunteers who  participated in the 20-year anniversary of annual Clean Up Los Alamos Day on Saturday, April 29, 2023. Volunteers picked up litter from all over the county including school grounds, parks and trails. This year 10 groups and over 205 volunteers signed up to participate in Clean Up Los Alamos Day.

Some of the groups that volunteered were the Democratic Party of Los Alamos, LDS Church Youth Group, REMAX of Los Alamos, Los Alamos Master Gardeners, Girls Scouts, Rotary Club, Cub Scouts, LACCF, Zero Waste and the Environmental Sustainability Board as well as many other individuals.

As part of Clean Up Los Alamos Day, the County provides a free tipping day for LA residents. At the Eco Station 128 residents utilized the free tipping day, 16 residents utilized the White Rock Overlook Collection Center. With volunteers and residents utilizing the Eco Station and White Rock Convenience Center, over 13.5 tons of trash was received.

It is our responsibility to keep Los Alamos County clean and beautiful. We could not have done it without the support from our community.
