Connect New Mexico graduate Katie Higgins
Leadership New Mexico News:
Leadership New Mexico has announced that Los Alamos National Laboratory Group Leader Katie Higgins is among more than 90 statewide leaders who recently graduated from the Leadership New Mexico Connect Program.
Leadership New Mexico was founded in 1995 to identify current and emerging leaders throughout New Mexico, enhance their leadership skills, and deepen their understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the state.
Connect New Mexico is a 5-month commitment. Each session focuses on leadership skill development and the opportunity to learn about the statewide operations of a variety of systems and structures in the state. The program encourages participants to cultivate new ideas and techniques to develop solutions to some of New Mexico’s most pressing issues.
Connect New Mexico participants also are introduced to subject matter experts who provide insight into a wide range of topics. Participants have the opportunity to engage in discussion, inquiry, analysis, and the development of solutions to the most pressing issues facing the state. The program creates a life-long bond between young professionals and provides participants with tools they can take back to their communities to implement positive change and improve New Mexico’s quality of life.
The Connect Program sessions include topics such as health and human services, economic development, education, environment and natural resources, government and crime and justice issues. The program sessions are held six times a year in various locations around the state.
