UWNNM News:

  • Centerra continues longtime support of United Way of Northern New Mexico

Centerra-Los Alamos has been a long-time partner of United Way of Northern New Mexico (UWNNM) and continues its support for the organization by providing funding for operational functions with generous donations each year.

Centerra-Los Alamos General Manager Lennie Upshaw met this afternoon with UWNNM Executive Director Monica Griego to present a $10,000 check in support of the organization.

“Centerra-Los Alamos is happy to be able to continue supporting the United Way of Northern New Mexico,” Upshaw  said. “We appreciate the great work United Way does to positively impact so many people and programs in the communities where our employees and families live and work. On behalf of our Centerra team here in Los Alamos, we are thankful to be able to present this check to help support the people here in the northern New Mexico community. Thanks United Way for what you do!”

Griego accepted the check on behalf of the non-profit organization.

“We’re so thankful for our generous donors and we’re excited that we get to keep working with them,” she said. “We all have the same mission here, to Live United, and to make Northern New Mexico communities better places to live. Centerra is one of the donors that helps us to achieve this goal with their donation. We could not make these necessary changes without donors like them!”

UWNNM is now only $50,000 away from its goal of raising half a million dollars before 2023. To help the organization reach this goal, individuals may donate online or at the Los Alamos Post Office or Los Alamos Municipal Building.
