2022 Mercy Award Winner Rosalie Maestas

LAMC News:

…Rosalie Maestas recognized for demonstrating compassion and unwavering commitment to helping others. She is truly the light that shines within the hospital.

Los Alamos, NM (May 12, 2022) – Los Alamos Medical Center recently announced that Rosalie Maestas has been recognized as the facility’s 2022 Mercy Award winner.

The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of LifePoint Health’s facilities who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.

The Mercy Award is an annual recognition program established in 2002 to honor the life and contributions of Scott Mercy, LifePoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer. The award is considered the highest honor a LifePoint employee can receive.

“At LAMC, we share LifePoint’s commitment to making communities healthier, and we recognize this is supported by the good work and service of our employees on and off the job,” said Tracie Stratton, CEO of Los Alamos Medical Center. “We are extremely proud to recognize Rosalie for her efforts on behalf of our patients and our community. She goes above and beyond each and every day to ensure that every person she encounters receives the highest level of care and compassion.”

Maestas has been with LAMC for more than 50 years. From working nights in the OB unit as a nurse’s aide to joining Materials Management, she has seen a lot of advancement over her years of service. Her coworkers describe her as dedicated, can always be found to have a smile on her face, caring and lends an ear to whoever is in need. She is truly the light that shines within the hospital.

Each facility winner, including Maestas will be considered for LifePoint’s 2022 companywide Mercy Award. The companywide winner will be announced this summer and honored during a ceremony in Nashville, Tenn., in August, to which LAMC and all facility winners are invited to attend.

A part of LifePoint Health, Los Alamos Medical Center is best known for providing high quality safe patient care not only to the Los Alamos community, but to many Northern New Mexico neighboring communities. “We are proud to be a community hospital that brings a rich tradition of compassionate care close to home.” –LAMC
