PEEC News:
The Pajarito Environmental Education Center’s (PEEC’s) signature event, the annual Earth Day Festival, returns 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23 at the Los Alamos Nature Center on Canyon Road.
After two years of COVID cancellations, the festivities are back in full swing, including delicious food, fun activities, informational booths, and exciting entertainment.
Throughout the day, guests can visit a variety of local, regional, and state booths with all kinds of activities and information to celebrate Earth Day. Recycle Man will provide interactive entertainment at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and The Hill Stompers will perform at noon.
Festival entertainment is sponsored by Enterprise Bank & Trust.
Enjoy delicious snacks or lunch from Pig & Fig Cafe and Muy Salsas. Don’t forget that this is a zero-waste event, so PEEC encourages everyone to bring their own water bottle, utensils, and cloth napkins to help reduce the waste generated from the festival.
Visit with local, regional, and state organizations, parks, and businesses at interactive booths. There will be fun activities, crafts, and games for all ages. Pick up the newest passport booklet, the New Mexico Outdoor Pass and check out what’s new in the gardens and planetarium.
There will be no parking available at the nature center. Instead, park at the Justice Center (across from the library) and ride the free Atomic City Transit bus straight to the nature center.
