On April 2, the Board of Los Alamos Retirement Community (LARC) held a special meeting to address hardships faced by the staff serving residents at our Sombrillo skilled nursing, and Aspen Ridge Lodge assisted living facilities.
The Board voted unanimously to award special payments of $300 to each of our approximately 130 employees. Donations to LARC by our members made this possible.
These employees are doing essential work serving some of our most vulnerable citizens during the worldwide Covid-19 health crisis. Employees are facing many hardships including finding replacement childcare, loss of employment of family members, and other increased costs of protecting their families and themselves.
Please visit our web page at www.larcnm.com for the latest information on our response to the pandemic.
How can you help? Consider donating to the “LARC Hero’s campaign” at www.larcnm.com/giving, or on our Facebook page at facebook.com/larcnm.
LARC is the local non-profit that owns Sombrillo and Aspen Ridge Lodge. The LARC Board would like to thank our local community for their continued support.
