Sharleen Espinoza

The Los Alamos Family YMCA announced that Sharleen Espinoza has accepted the position of Sports, Youth & Family director; she will begin her new position immediately.

Espinoza has worked for The Family YMCA since 2012, first as a Welcome Center representative and then as the Member Services coordinator before leaving last year to continue her education.

The Y said that she is passionate about coaching youth sports and has extensive coaching experience working with elementary-aged children through young adults. Adding that she believes that children introduced to sports at a young age build character and learn valuable life skills such as teamwork, communication, respect, discipline, responsibility and resiliency.

Espinoza said that she will strive to ensure that the programs under her direction are accessible and inclusive to all in the community.
