An Interfaith Christmas Concert is 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Mormon Church at 1967 18th St. in Los Alamos.
This free event will have musical numbers from members of White Rock and Los Alamos communities. Performances include a variety of instruments, including piano, cello, ukulele and a bell choir. There also will be soloist and singing performances and opportunities for the audience to sing some classic Christmas music. The performers vary in age from 9 years to adults. Families and children are encouraged to attend.
Desserts and hot chocolate will be served in a reception following the concert.
This concert has been organized by Brooklynn Scott, a 15-year-old student at Los Alamos High School. Scott says, “I love music and I love Christmas and so I felt that by organizing this concert I could bring the two together.” She is organizing the concert as a service project to receive her Mormon Young Woman in Excellence Award, which is a program that is designed to be the equivalent of an Eagle Scout.
