PEEC News:
The community is invited to take a journey with astrophysicist Dr. Rick Wallace at 7 p.m., Friday to discover new revelations about the solar system.
Attendees will view the solar system in the planetarium dome at the Los Alamos Nature Center, 2600 Canyon Road and glimpse the possibilities of a new planet.
Wallace will convey key discoveries in the solar system made by NASA/ESA space probes and advanced ground-based telescopes. The is an opportunity to explore the latest revelations about neighboring planets such as Mars, asteroids, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto, as well as a possible new planet in the solar system.
Wallace has a Ph.D. in Astronomy and Astrophysics from the University of California at Santa Cruz (Lick Observatory), with concentration in numerical calculations of stellar explosions (Novae, Supernovae, X-ray Bursts), nuclear fusion and formation of the elements. He also served as a staff member at Los Alamos National Laboratory for more than 30 years.
This astronomy show is $6 for adults and $4 for children. Tickets are available by calling or stopping by the nature center. Seating is limited. Planetarium shows are suitable for ages four and up.
