If you are at least 18 years old and would like to help your community occasionally, this is for you!

LA Cares is looking for volunteers who we could call on to substitute for regular volunteers at our monthly food distribution. Family obligations, vacations and illness all lead to a possible shortage of our established volunteers who prepare food for distribution. We would like to create a list of volunteers that we can call upon if needed. To do this, we would like to share our procedures to interested community members and see which areas they are interested in helping.

We are holding our first “Volunteer Orientation” from 3–4 p.m., Thursday, July 9 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2390 North Rd., Los Alamos. We will show you how we are set up for distribution and the different areas you might be asked to serve.
