Los Alamos JJAB News:
Los Alamos JJAB has announced the kickoff of its annual School Supply Drive, a community effort dedicated to helping Los Alamos Public Schools (LAPS) students start the school year prepared and ready to learn.
As families continue to face rising costs, school supplies can place an added strain on household budgets. JJAB is committed to easing that burden by collecting financial donations to purchase essential items such as backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, folders, and other classroom necessities.
“When students have the supplies they need on the first day of school, they can focus on learning, building relationships, and feeling confident in the classroom,” said Los Alamos JJAB Executive Director Dianna Reichelt. “This project is a wonderful example of how our community comes together to support local youth and ensure every student has the opportunity to start the school year prepared for success.”
JJAB has coordinated the School Supply Drive annually since 2017. Last year, the program provided school supplies to 66 individual LAPS students. In addition, school counselors received supplies to assist students who arrived at school without the materials they needed.
Community members, businesses, and organizations are encouraged to support the drive through financial contributions. Donations allow JJAB to purchase supplies based on current school needs and ensure resources are distributed where they are most needed.
Donations can be made online at www.losalamosjjab.com or mailed to:

Please note “School Supply Drive” on mailed donations.
Financial donations for the school supply drive will continue through July 24, 2026, providing an opportunity for the community to make a meaningful impact on local students before the start of the new school year.
Every contribution, regardless of size, helps equip students with the tools they need for academic success. Together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of Los Alamos youth.
