The Finishing Touch has made some significant changes: it moved locations and revamped its name. Now known as TFT Design, the home furnishings business has relocated to 1247-B Central Ave., next door to Boomerang Consignment.
Co-Owner Marcelo Ruano said the business moved from its previous location in Central Park Square and into the new space June 1.
“We think the location will be an opportunity to bring in a level of customer service we want to give to the community,” he said.
Ruano added that he and co-owner Julio Gaytan are excited to have a storefront on Central Avenue, explaining they feel it will bring greater exposure to the business.
Relatedly, Ruano said it was decided to change the business’s name because they felt it would be easier to remember and it better describes everything the business offers.
He explained that although they have instituted some changes, the services TFT Design offers are the same.
They continue to offer flooring, cabinets, window coverings, countertops and full kitchen and bath design.
Like many, Ruano said TFT Design has weathered a lot in recent years with the volatile economy, but “we strongly believe we can help provide these services in this community,” he said. “We want to provide the most services we can.”
Ruano and Gaytan have owned and operated the business since 2017. During that time, they opened a second store, which is a larger showroom, at 3675 Cerrillos Road in Santa Fe.
Ruano said the Santa Fe location is still open. Throughout everything, Ruano said they appreciate the community’s support.
“We’re happy with the support of the community and we always have been since day one,” he said. “We know there is a need in Los Alamos and we are hoping to be here to serve that need.”
TFT Design is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is open on Saturday by appointment only.
