COUNTY News:
After a week of being closed, the Los Alamos County Community Services Department is happy to announce that Piñon Park Pool will reopen Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
Friday, May 29, 2026, Piñon Park Pool experienced an unexpected issue with the boiler system. Since then, the pool has been closed as staff and other County departments gather information, troubleshoot, and determine a path forward.
As a result of working with other County departments, a course of action has been developed to open the facility and maintain a safe environment. The course of action may require some disruption; however, we will keep you informed.
Staff is happy to announce that with the warmer weather, the pool is maintaining the required operating temperature without the use of the boiler, which allows the public to use the water, and solar-powered hot water deck showers will be available to pool users, making it possible for the pool to be open.
Additional information will be provided as we work through resolving the boiler issues and complete the necessary inspections. We thank the public for being understanding and supportive of the situation and hope to see you at Piñon Park Pool.
