For Students:

Friday, May 22 @ 9 a.m. — Graduation Rehearsal at Sullivan Field  

*MANDATORY* for participation in Commencement

• Find your seat in the bleachers.
  • Seniors with last names beginning with A-Mark should sit on the bleachers that are closest to the Track Shed (old bathroom building) and those with last names beginning with Mart-Z will sit on the bleachers closest to the Field House. 
• You may want to carpool with friends – Park in DSA, Jock Lot or Sullivan Field lots. *Do NOT park at the Church Lot by Sullivan Field
• Do NOT wear your Cap & Gown to rehearsal.
• Wear comfortable clothing (hat), sunscreen, and bring water – you will be outside the entire time.
• Rehearsal will last until noon.

Saturday, May 23 @ 8 a.m. — Commencement Ceremony Line up at UNM-LA back parking lot 

*MANDATORY* for participation in Commencement

• • Arrive no later than 8 a.m. in the back UNM-LA parking lot
  • Carpool! Parking is limited. Park at DSA and walk over or get dropped off at the UNM-LA back parking lot.

• Attire. 

• • Cap & Gown. Press the wrinkles out with a low heat iron.
  • Wear semi-formal attire under their caps and gowns. Casual clothing such as athletic wear, T-shirts, and shorts is not permitted.
  • Wear appropriate footwear. You will be walking on many different surfaces and navigating stairs, bleachers and a ramp. For safety purposes flip flops are not permitted.  
  • You will not be allowed to carry anything during Commencement – anything that doesn’t fit in your pockets will be collected and taken to the Spirit Store for pickup after the ceremony.
  • LAHS Administration reserves the right to pull students from the ceremony who are not appropriately dressed. 

Parents/Guardians and Guests:

Saturday, May 23 — Gates open at 8 a.m., seating is first come first served.

• Entering the Stadium

• • • For families with Graduates with last names beginning with A-Mark, please enter through the visitor gates (closest to the United Methodist Church). 
    • For families with Graduates with last names beginning with Mart-Z, please enter through the home gates (closest to UNM-LA).
    • These instructions seat you in front of your graduate during the ceremony. However, you will see their back as they receive their diploma. If you want them facing you when they receive their diploma, sit on the opposite side.

• Seating:

• • • Please bring a blanket to sit on. If you prefer to sit on a camping chair, you MUST bring a blanket for the chair to be placed on. You will not be allowed to use your chairs if you don’t have a blanket under them.
    • Umbrellas or other items that block others’ view from the field must be put down/closed when Commencement begins.
    • No food or drink other than bottled water is allowed on the field.

• • • Parking will be available (first-come, first served) at the following locations: 
    • Sullivan Field Parking Lot is reserved for Handicap Parking ONLY. We will have members of our security team on hand to provide transportation for spectators with severely limited mobility from the Sullivan Field entrance gates to seating on the field.

  • Live-streaming will begin at 8:30 a.m. MST.

Commencement Parking Information

As we prepare for the 2026 LAHS Commencement Ceremony, we want to ensure all our guests can comfortably celebrate this special milestone.

• • The parking lot at Sullivan Field will be reserved exclusively for guests with significant mobility limitations. Guests who receive this parking pass will enter the parking lot from the traffic light at Canyon Rd & Diamond Dr.
• Those without a parking pass may drop off at Sullivan Field but cannot park there:
• You may drop off via the north Sullivan parking lot entrance, off Southbound Diamond Drive
• Park in a local parking lot and walk to Sullivan Field. Parking areas include but are not limited to:
  • • Duane Smith Auditorium Lot
    • Griffith Gym Lot
    • Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church Lot
    • Los Alamos County Aquatic Center Lot
    • First United Church Lot
