Department of Public Utilities (DPU) Water and Energy Conservation Coordinator Abbey Hayward kicks off the first of a series of Speed Engagement Sessions on Monday afternoon at the Municipal Building. The series continued 2:30-4 p.m. today in the White Rock Branch Library and then 4:30-7 p.m. at the White Rock Activity Center. These sessions are part of updating the Water and Energy Conservation Plan (WECP), a required document outlining conservation efforts within DPU services. The Los Alamos Board of Public Utilities (BPU) sets department goals, but public sentiment helps guide how those goals are achieved. Each open-house-style session invites the public to visit ‘conversation stations’ representing BPU’s goals, jot down ideas, and vote for their favorites with provided stickers.
