New Mexico Goatheads Surpass 1K Season Ticket Deposits

SPORTS News:

RIO RANCHO — The New Mexico Goatheads hockey team announced that the organization has surpassed 1,000 season ticket deposits for the team’s inaugural 2026–27 ECHL season at the Rio Rancho Events Center. This milestone marks a significant step in the franchise’s launch and underscores the strong statewide enthusiasm for the return of professional hockey.

Since unveiling the Goatheads name and brand earlier this fall, the team has recorded substantial demand from fans across New Mexico. Early merchandise releases, community events, and growing corporate partnership interest have all contributed to accelerating momentum ahead of opening night in 2026.

“We’re energized by the response. The passion from this community has been incredible,” said Goatheads General Manager Jared Johnson. “Surpassing 1,000 deposits this early shows the excitement around bringing professional hockey back — and the trust fans have placed in us as we build toward opening night in 2026.”

The Goatheads continue to advance major initiatives in preparation for their debut season, including facility renovations, community outreach, and the expansion of local and regional partnerships. Additional major announcements — including the unveiling of the team mascot and the organization’s NHL/AHL affiliate — are expected in the coming months.

The franchise’s arrival is also anticipated to provide a meaningful economic impact for the region, driving increased visitation, hotel stays, and local business activity as fans travel from across New Mexico and neighboring states.

Fans interested in securing their place in line for the inaugural season can place a $50 season ticket deposit at NMGoatheads.com.
