‘No Kings’ Protest 2.0 At Ashley Pond Park Oct. 18

From Indivisible Los Alamos:

          • As President Trump expands his authoritarian powers, thousands of actions across the country will reinforce the message that “We don’t do kings in America”.

On Oct. 18, Los Alamos residents will join with millions of Americans across the country in a nationwide day of nonviolent protests at the second No Kings Day of Action.

A few months ago, on June 14, more than five million people across all 50 states joined No Kings in the largest single-day protest yet against President Trump’s authoritarianism. The Oct. 18 day of action is the next step in this growing movement, channeling that energy into another coordinated, peaceful mobilization.

Indivisible Los Alamos is excited to join with other groups participating in No Kings peaceful protests across the country. The Los Alamos protest will be 3-4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18 at Ashley Pond Park. Individuals who would like to commit to this event are encouraged to register at Mobilize.

A similar No Kings event will be held in Santa Fe. Details are available here.

“In only eight months, Donald Trump has attacked American democracy as no other President has done during our lifetimes,” said Indivisible Los Alamos member William Mead. “He has used lies, hate, and fear to subvert our Constitution, violate our laws, and neuter our representative government. He has set up an authoritarian regime that uses intimidation and even military troops to suppress fundamental freedoms that Americans have proudly fought for and enjoyed for some 250 years.”
