Seventy-two Los Alamos High School (LAHS) students joined the National Honor Society (NHS) during the Induction Ceremony held last week in Duane Smith Auditorium. Parents, families and friends were on hand to congratulate this year’s inductees.
Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation Executive Director Jennifer McCumber was the Keynote Speaker. She spoke about the four pillars of NHS: Character, Scholarship, Leadership and Service. She reminded students to “enjoy the connections with classmates while doing service” and to be a part of today.
LAHS Principal Renee Dunwoody presented certificates to each student. NHS officers including President Uxue Sansinena, Vice President Lena Ronning, Secretary Sophia Sisneros and Treasurer Sophia Pieck participated in the candlelight ceremony that followed the presentation of certificates to the new members.
