LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department is inviting the public to participate in an Animal Shelter Art Contest.

Through this difficult and confusing time, LAPS would like to ask the youth of the community to brighten the walls with their art work depicting their favorite pet or animal.

The contest is open to four age groups:

  • Up to 5 year olds;
  • 6-9 year olds;
  • 11-13 year olds; and
  • 14year olds and above.

Rules and instructions:

  • On the back of the drawing give a brief description of the drawing writing as clearly as possible.
  • All art must have the artist’s name, age, address and parent’s name and phone number on the back.
  • All entries can be mailed to the Animal Shelter at 226 East Road, Los Alamos, NM, 87544 or placed in the mail box outside the shelter, or call and make an appointment to drop off the drawing at the shelter.
  • All entries must be submitted by 10 June, 2020.

LAPS will post all drawings on its Facebook Page and they will be voted on.

A winner will be selected from each age group and hung in the lobby of the Animal Shelter for all guests to see when the shelter is back open.
