$2M Roadway Rehabilitation Project On NM 511 To Begin Near Navajo Dam

NMDOT News:

A Hot-In-Place Recycling project will begin along NM 511 east of Bloomfield, NM.

Hot-In-Place Recycling (HIR) utilizes a specialized machine in which 100% of the asphalt in place is recycled. The asphalt is removed, crushed, rejuvenated, and replaced onto the roadway, restoring flexibility and quality of the asphalt material. This process reduces environmental impacts, speeds up timelines and reduces the cost of roadway miles maintained.

Starting, Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, traffic can expect lane closures beginning at milepost 0 (intersection with US 64) to milepost 23.5. A pilot car operation will be in place, please reduce your speed, obey traffic control devices and expect delays.

Work will take place from 7 a.m.–7 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The project is expected to take 20 working days, weather permitting.

Dustrol Inc. has been contracted to complete the work.

The New Mexico Department of Transportation is committed to the safety of the traveling public and appreciates your cooperation during this work. For updated road information visit: The New Mexico Department of Transportation at www.nmroads.com or call 511.
