AFROMUNDO News:

2023 AfroMundo Festival: Resistance & Creativity is April 15-22 at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque.

AfroMundo explores the complexities of Latinidad throughout this bilingual series of music, dance, films, literature, culinary taste feasts, panel discussions and more.

Featured regions include Honduras, Peru, Brazil and the United States.

All are welcome but registration is required: Register here.

  • 3 p.m., Sun. April 16: Poetry Reading, From Decimas to Spoken Word, 516 Arts
  • 7 p.m., Mon. April 17: Film Screening, Afro-Indigeneity, National Hispanic Cultural Center
  • 7 p.m: Tues. April 18: Film Screening Folk Medicine: Healing & Spirituality, National Hispanic Cultural Ctr.
  • 4-6 p.m., Wed. April 19: Culinary Memory, Meal Pick Up, at Three Sisters Kitchen
  • 7:30 p.m., Wed. April 19: Culinary Memory, Discussion with Chefs, at National Hispanic Cultural Center
  • 7 p.m., Thurs., April 20: Film Screening, Inclusive Narratives: Rising Voices, National Hispanic Cultural Center
  • 7 p.m., Fri. April 21: Dance Presentation: Migrations: Transmitting Traditions & Knowledge, Valle Del Oro National Wildlife Refuge
  • 7 p.m., Sat. April 22: Concert, Warrior of Afro-Peruvian Music, at South Broadway Cultural Center
