100+ Women Who Cares – Los Alamos held its third quarterly gathering of 2024 on Aug. 1 at the PEEC Nature Center on Canyon Road.
100+ Women Who Cares – Los Alamos extends special thanks to Lance Eaton, Windy Earls and Becca Jones with EXIT Realty Advantage NM for sponsoring the event. Their sponsorship provided the great food from El Parasol and paid for the space to hold the event at the PEEC Nature Center.
The three organizations that presented were Dance Arts Los Alamos, The Family YMCA and the League of Women Voters of Los Alamos. The presentations were all terrific and The Family YMCA was chosen to receive the donations. They are going to use the funds to help fund Senior Appreciation Night (SAN), as the Y is the fiscal sponsor for this event that is produced by many partners in the community. This event gives students a fun and safe way to celebrate their graduation, but it takes a lot of work and funding to make the night something special.
Both Dance Arts Los Alamos and the League of Women Voters of Los Alamos remain eligible to be selected at future events.
100+ Women Who Cares – Los Alamos continues to thank the Los Alamos Community Foundation for acting as its fiscal agent.
Local non-profit organizations are encouraged to submit a grant proposal: application.
Mark your calendars for the fourth quarterly meeting, which is going to be 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7. The sponsor is TechSource, Inc. and the location will be announced soon.
