During the 100+ Women Who Care in Los Alamos quarterly meeting Thursday evening at the Posse Lodge, Kelly Myers, right, and Kristy Ortega of United Way drew the names of three local nonprofits whose representatives then gave 5-minute talks. The group cast their votes and selected the Los Alamos Family Council to receive some $5,000 raised at Thursday’s event, which was hosted by Kelly Myers of RE/MAX First. Ortega, Rep. Stephanie Garcia Richard, Carol A. Clark, Marvel Harrison and Deb Shelton founded the 100+ Women Who Care in Los Alamos organization more than two years ago. To date the organization has raised and donated nearly $75,000 to local nonprofits. Photo by Carol A. Clark/ladailypost.com
