Los Alamos Family Council Program Director Cheryl Pongratz thanks 100 Women for their contribution last quarter to her organization. The funds helped provide substance abuse counseling and other services such as anger management therapy to local residents who could not otherwise afford them, she said. Photo by Bonnie J. Juvenile Justice Advisory Board (JJAB) Family Resource Specialist Cindy Koehler, left, and JJAB Coordinator Lisa Zuhn make their successful pitch to receive the donations collected this quarter by 100+ Women Who Care. Funds will be used for the organization’s project, Imagination Library. The Library was started by Dolly Parton in honor of her father, who could not read. As part of Imagination Library, JJAB provides funds for one free book each month to be mailed to Los Alamos youngsters under 5 years of age. Other than age and County residency, there are no other requirements to participate in the program. 100+ Women member Elizabeth Allen said her 2-year-old daughter gets very excited when her book, addressed to her personally, arrives in the mail and insists everyone sit down and read it immediately! Visit www.imaginationlibrary.org  or call JJAB at 505.709.8125 to learn more or sign up for the program. Photo by Bonnie J. Gordon/ladailypost.com
