ALBUQUERQUE — Verus® Research, a New Mexico-based team of scientists and engineers specializing in advanced research and development, announces the award of a five-year $28 million contract from the U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO-STRI).

Under the new Airborne Non-Kinetic Systems for Test (ANKST) contract, Verus Research will support the Defense Department Test Resource Management Center’s investments in test and evaluation (T&E) of directed energy technologies.

“We are honored to receive the new contract from the U.S. Army regarding the test and evaluation of emerging directed energy technologies” said Dr. J. The new program will address T&E needs in surrogate high-power microwave (HPM) sources, associated instrumentation, and modeling and simulation. The company will also continue developing its Verus Research Reusable Recoverable Airborne Engagement (RRAE) program, which seeks to fly a HPM T&E source on a recoverable airborne platform to simulate air-to-ground HPM engagements.
