Young Chefs Compete In Los Alamos County 4-H Contests

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County 4-H Contests were held April 7-9 in White Rock. This year there were 22 participates grades K-12, who competed in variety of different contests covering areas such as Wildlife and Plant Identification, Cooking and Nutrition and Public Speaking.

Many of the contests included both written and oral components, and required the members to study and prepare.

County contests are the first step for members to move on to the District and State contests. Five of the local Senior level members qualified to participate at the New Mexico State Convention at NMSU this July and nine Junior and Novice members qualified to participate in June at the Northern New Mexico District Contest in Farmington.
