Staff report
Community members, Chamber officials, YMCA Board members and staff gathered together Monday celebrate the grand opening of the new Y Express at 140 Central Park Square.
The Y Express is a scaled-down version of the Family YMCA on Iris Street, and offers space primarily for functional training and group exercise.
Wellness staff researched the equipment for the Y Express that is “next-generation” and “revolutionary.”
In the functional training area, one can complete a total body workout in 40 minutes or less.
The group exercise area is larger than the current aerobic room at the main Y and offers a TRX Suspension Training System, an exercise experience that compliments existing programs.
Group Fitness Classes include:
- Crash Cardio
- Yoga
- Zumba
- PowerFlow Yoga
- Women’s Toning
- PiYo Strength
- PowerUp
- Pilates
- Stretch
- Kettlebells
- TRX Suspension Training
The main entrance to the Y Express faces Nectar Street. For more information, click here.
