Y offers ‘Try-Us-Free’ Week

YMCA News:

The Family YMCA is offering a special, “Try-Us Free,” week to anyone who lives or works in Los Alamos from Oct.19-26. The Y is also waiving the joining fee to their wellness facility from Oct. 15 throughout the rest of the month.

The Y’s CEO Linda Daly announced the free week as an outreach.

“The Y wants to support individuals in stressful times, to help them find a balance,” Daly said. “As an organization, we must also work to balance our resources in support of community, and this free week is one way we can help.”

“We want to encourage anyone who is feeling stressed to take the opportunity to work out and feel better,” Daly said. “People need a place where they can go and feel supported and receive help in trying times.”

“Try-Us Free” week includes use of the main facility at 15th and Iris, as well as the Y Express at 140 Central Park Square.

Daly said people can meet friends, make new friends, take a fitness class and relieve stress. As a special membership gift, the new member fee is waived through the end of October, she said.
