Irene Quintana
Staff Report
The woman who has been on the lam for more than a week turned herself in Thursday.
“She walked up to our window (inside the Justice Center) and police officers were here to arrest her,” Magistrate Judge Pat Casados said. “She had her first appearance in court and was released on a $5,000 bond pending a pre-trial.”
Los Alamos Police Detectives had been searching for Quintana, 49, of Chamita since Sept. 17.
She was wanted on a warrant with two felony charges for distribution of a controlled substance and conspiracy. Quintana is suspected of attempting to send controlled substances through the mail into the Los Alamos County Jail earlier this month.
