Los Alamos MainStreet News:

The annual WinterFest Holiday Lights Parade will be gliding down MainStreet at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8. It’s always a fun, colorful, family-friendly event, made even more special with this year’s “Candyland” theme.

As the date approaches, however, the Los Alamos MainStreet staff would like to remind parents and families to exercise caution with little ones when attending the parade. Given the theme this year, children may be enthusiastic to get candy from some of the floats, but should be sure to stay clear of vehicles.

As an added safety measure, parade entrants are prohibited from throwing candy at parade attendees, and instead should be passing it out. Since the WinterFest Holiday Lights Parade is a lights parade taking place in the dark, it’s even more critical that families watch out for kids during this time.

We look forward to welcoming the Los Alamos community downtown for this fun and safe annual holiday tradition! After the parade, attendees are encouraged to walk to Ashley Pond Park Stage for the Tree Lighting, festive holiday carols performed by Los Alamos High School student musicians, and announcements around the LANB Blue Bucks raffle and Scavenger Hunt winners!
