Los Alamos MainStreet hosts the annual Winterfest Dec. 5-7. From Breakfast with Santa to the Snow Queen ballet, Los Alamos celebrates winter with many events scheduled around town.
Don’t miss the “Frozen” themed Holiday Lights Parade at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 on Central Avenue. The official Tree Lighting ceremony will follow the parade at 7 p.m. around Ashley Pond Park.
The annual Fuller Lodge Open House will be held on December 6th. The Arts Council along with the Art Center at Fuller Lodge and the Historical Society will kick off the holiday season at the Lodge, Los Alamos’ best known historic building and its cultural and artistic center. The Fuller Lodge Open House is a part of the Winterfest downtown celebration, which takes place the first weekend in December, and is capped off by the Light Parade and tree-lighting at Ashley Pond
Fuller Lodge is decorated for the holidays. Come by and enjoy the holiday spirit and all of the festivities planned for the Open House.
This year the festivities begin with the Chamisa SingSations at 10 a.m. At 11 a.m., a musical group will be playing holiday tunes. Juanita Madland and friends will host a sing-a-long beginning at 11:30 a.m. At 1 p.m., there will be more holiday music as well as punch and cookies served by the Arts Council. At 1:30 p.m. the Los Alamos Family Council will host a Holiday Cookie Walk. Be sure to come by to purchase a box and pick out a dozen holiday cookies.
There will be several nonprofit organizations as a part of the festivities. The Animal Shelter will sell calendars, Boy Scout Troop 71 will have holiday wreaths and the band boosters will have poinsettias for sale. PEEC and the Empty Bowl Project also will be there. The band boosters will again have poinsettia for sale. The Historical Society Book Store will have many items for gift giving.
