COUNTY News:
On the first day of Spring, March 20, eight lucky elementary-aged school children were awarded a certificate and a red airplane-shaped kite after their name was selected from a drawing in a ‘Wing Into Spring’ coloring contest sponsored by the Los Alamos County Airport.
The contest kicked off a celebration of the one-year anniversary of the return of commercial airline service to Los Alamos. New Mexico Airlines began offering flights seven days a week between Los Alamos Airport and Albuquerque’s Sunport April 8, 2013.
More than 70 entries were received. All contest entries are being posted inside the terminal at the airport for the month of April, creating a colorful spring-time display celebrating air service.
Winning entries were featured on a special poster created for the lobby. Winners include:
- Anabella Dutton
- Emma Fatherley
- Jalyn Gould
- Alina Lee
- Tsukihiko Nakamura
- Maya Snowden
- Akshay Swaminarayan
- Anna Emilia Vogel Castillo
