NMSFD News:

New Mexico State Forestry Division reports multiple resources are working to suppress a wildfire burning in Canon, north of the Jemez Pueblo and east of Ponderosa.

The State Forestry Division, Sandoval County Fire Department and US Forest Service crews are at the scene.

The fire began on private land and has spread to brush, vehicles and a shed, which is creating a large column of smoke. Multiple structures are threatened at this time.

The public is being asked to avoid the area of Highway 485 near mile marker 2 to allow fire equipment into the area.
