ALBUQUERQUE—The New Mexico Sheriffs’ Association commends Los Alamos Sheriff Marco Lucero for nomination of Sheriff of the Year from Western States Sheriffs’ Association.
Sheriff Lucero was nominated for Sheriff of the Year by his peers at the Western States Sheriffs’ Association at the annual spring conference in Las Vegas, Nev. in March.
“I am humbled by this honor,” Lucero said. “I feel there are many more deserving sheriffs.”
Western States Sheriffs’ Association is comprised from Sheriffs from 16 states. This is the first time New Mexico has had a Sheriff nominated for this award.
Sheriff Lucero was nominated for his untiring efforts to persevere the office of Sheriff, commitment to keeping his citizens safe in his community, and upholding the oath of Sheriff.
