TUCSON, Ariz.—Due to the federal government shutdown, the National Park Service (NPS) has closed most of its park facilities.
Until the shutdown ends, Western National Parks Association (WNPA) has ceased operations at its park stores in 71 national parks.
WNPA understands the impact this will have on our NPS park partners, visitors to national parks, and our mission, which is to advance education, interpretation, research, and community engagement to ensure national parks are increasingly valued by all. Your purchases at WNPA park stores support the 71 national parks we serve; the proceeds go back to the parks to fund educational and interpretational programs, research projects, and park store personnel.
In the meantime, how can you support national parks?
The National Parks Store in Tucson, Ariz., is not located in a national park and will remain open during the shutdown (address and contact information are listed below). You can also continue to shop in our online store at store.wnpa.org. The Gateway to Nature: Western National Parks Center (Los Angeles, Calif.) also remains open though some programs may be delayed.
