Walkup Aquatic Center HVAC And Boiler Replacement Reopening Delayed

COUNTY News:

The project at the Walkup Aquatics Center was originally planned to reopen to the public in mid-November. The pool is not ready yet but will reopen soon.

The pool closed Aug. 17 after the Los Alamos Triathlon for this project. The $2.2 million project replaces the 26-year-old boilers and HVAC for the entire building.

The major equipment is installed in the building and final connections and controls programming are now taking place. As soon as the system demonstrates proper operation and the State construction and pool inspections are complete, the reopening will be announced through local media with a days’ notice. The first day open will be free to the public to welcome patrons back to the pool.
