SAN News:
Volunteers are needed to help with events for the community-sponsored, all-night senior graduation celebration known as SAN (Senior Appreciation Night) for shifts that begin at 6 p.m. June 1.
SAN was created as a fun, safe alternative to dangerous celebrations for local graduates.
The event is in its 29 year and typically serves 350 students.
Volunteers are needed to work 2 to 3 hour shifts at times detailed below:
- BBQ & Bouncy Toys / 5:30 to 9 p.m. / 17 volunteers needed;
- Youth Activity Center / 6 to 9 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. / 4 volunteers needed;
- YMCA / 7 to 10 p.m. / 4 volunteers needed;
- Wild West Photos / 6 to 9 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. / 4 volunteers needed;
- Roller Skating / 8 to 10 p.m. / 2 volunteers needed;
- Limbo / 9 to 11 p.m. / 2 volunteers needed;
- Carnival / 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. / 15 volunteers needed; and
- Movies / 12 a.m. to 3 a.m. / 10 volunteers needed.

SAN is sponsored by the Los Alamos County Recreation Department, Youth Activity Center, Family YMCA, DWI Planning Council, Kiwanis Club of Los Alamos, Los Alamos Public Schools, Atomic City Transit, First United Methodist Church and some 40 other organizations and local businesses.
