Volunteers Needed For Adult Literacy Program

The Rio Arriba Adult Literacy Program provides free one-to-one tutoring for adults reading below 6th grade level, and for new English learners. Volunteer tutorsare needed to help an adult in the community learn to read better, or learn to speak English.
 
The requirement is just two hours per week and the volunteer chooses the time. Meet in any public location, including the Los Alamos or White Rock library.
 
Take the free Basic Literacy tutor training Friday, Sept. 9 in Española. English-as-a-Second-Language tutor training is in October. Study materials and on-going support is provided.
