Volunteer opportunities within the community will be the focus at one booth at this Saturday’s Chamberfest celebration 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in downtown Los Alamos.
Los Alamos Community Foundation, in partnership with United Way Northern New Mexico and Leadership Los Alamos, has invited local nonprofits to provide information about their volunteer opportunities.
Members of the public of all ages are encouraged to stop by the LACF booth, browse the possibilities for becoming more involved, and even sign up to receive more information or become a new volunteer!
There will be a free drawing open to anyone who wishes to enter. Signing up to volunteer with a nonprofit will double one’s chances to win. The drawing prize will be $20 to the lucky individual whose name is drawn at 2 p.m., with an accompanying $80 award given to the winner’s choice of any 501c3 organization that supports Los Alamos.
Chamberfest wouldn’t be complete without free Otter Pops for the kids and some fun giveaways! Look for the “Volunteer Fair at Chamberfest” booth on Central Avenue, not far from the LANB sand pile.
Los Alamos Community Foundation facilitates and promotes local philanthropy, highlights unmet needs and investment opportunities within Los Alamos County, and meets those needs through financial and organizational support to existing and new organizations. To learn more, visit www.losalamoscf.org.
