Virtual Town Hall On Obtaining Workforce Skills Through Higher Education Available On NMDWS YouTube Channel

ALBUQUERQUE — The virtual town hall held Wednesday on Up-skill, Re-Skill, or Re-enter the Workforce Through Higher Education: Re-Opening Safely for Students is now available on the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) YouTube channel https://youtu.be/aOlhuiqcDuw.

NMDWS Secretary Bill McCamley was joined by: Ricky Serna and Stephanie Rodriguez, interim agency authority of the New Mexico Higher Education Department (HED); Dr. Cynthia J. Rooney, Chancellor of University of New Mexico – Los Alamos; Dr. Becky Rowley, President of Santa Fe Community College and Chair of New Mexico Independent Community Colleges; Dr. Joseph Shepard, President of Western New Mexico University and Chair of New Mexico Council of University Presidents; and Nathan Moquino, Tribal Liaison, Director of Indian Education with HED. 

Presenters of the virtual town hall discussed opportunities available to individuals at any stage of their life who are looking to up-skill, re-skill, or pursue higher education for their employment future.

Information on financial aid, what is required to enroll in 2- or 4-year institutions, and safety measures around re-opening were also discussed. All attendees who submitted written questions during the town hall received immediate responses from the panelists.
