STATE News:
ALBUQUERQUE ― Former Vice President Joe Biden announced Wednesday his endorsement of U.S. Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham for governor of New Mexico.
“I am proud to stand with Congresswoman Michelle Lujan Grisham in her run for governor because she has always stood up for the middle class and those working to get into the middle class,” Vice President Biden said. “Throughout her entire career, Michelle has been on the frontlines of making healthcare accessible and affordable and will stand up to efforts to roll back the progress we have made. She’s broken through the divisive partisan politics that are halting progress in Washington to bring back real results for New Mexico families. I know she can bring people together to remove obstacles in the way of middle and working-class families and create opportunities for everyone to succeed.”
Rep. Lujan Grisham said: “Vice President Biden has been a strong advocate for hard-working Americans and a symbol of triumph over adversity. I am so honored to have his support and confidence as we begin this next phase of our campaign. I am proud to work every day in Congress to protect the legacy that he and President Obama left of caring for those who need our help the most and I vow to continue that fight as governor.”
Vice President Biden joins a coalition of more than 20 labor unions, five tribes and pueblos, and dozens of current and former elected officials who have declared their support for Rep. Lujan Grisham in her campaign for governor.
