VFW Forming Men’s Auxiliary Charter In Los Alamos

VFW News:

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8874, Los Alamos, is in the process of forming a VFW Men’s Auxiliary charter in Los Alamos.

All those interested in joining this new charter are invited to attend an informational and registration meeting 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9 at the VFW Post, 1793 Deacon St. in Los Alamos.

The new men’s auxiliary will serve to benefit the community in carrying on various programs sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The VFW and its Auxiliaries are well known for sponsorship of the Voice of Democracy Contest, Patriot’s Pen Contest, Flag Presentations, Citizenship Education, Community Service, Safety, Youth Activities, Hospital, Military and Veterans Assistance, and other worthwhile programs and projects. These outstanding programs display the unselfish devotion that members of this organization feel towards our country.

Membership to the Men’s Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars is limited to men who are husbands, widowers, fathers, grandfathers, sons, grandsons, brothers and half-brothers of persons who were or are eligible for membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. Those who are not sure if they qualify are also encouraged to attend this important meeting. Attendees are asked to bring their relative’s Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (DD Form 214). If not available, information will be provided on how to obtain a DD-214 during this meeting.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a great organization, so we encourage everyone who is eligible to consider joining the VFW Men’s Auxiliary.

If you have any questions, please contact Roger Anaya, VFW Post 8874, Commander at 505.670.6717 or via email at: vfw8874@qwestoffice.net.
